Jean Charles Athanase Peltier:
Discovered the Peltier effect


Jean Charles Athanase Peltier was a French physicist who was born in Ham in 1785 and died in Paris in 1845.

He discovered the calorific effect of electric current passing through the junction of two different metals. This is now called the Peltier effect or Peltier-Seebeck effect.
